Seal the Deal

Seal the Deal includes a series of youth flag football camps and academies. While helping students improve their athletic skills, Seal the Deal is designed to help students "Make big plays on and off the field." The goal is to combine the game of football with the game of life by including weekly character development activities within a football program. Seal the Deal means "Make a big play." We want our kids to dream big and make big plays on the athletic field. We want to also give them tools needed to make even bigger plays in the game of life.

Seal the Deal includes the following programs:

  • Youth Football Academy– a 6-week summer program for inner city students with 2-hours of activities, two days per week. Day 1 focuses on skill development, on and off the field, while Day 2 includes flag football games with character building activities

  • Youth Football Camp – 2-day camps focusing on agility, football fundamentals, competition, character building and fun. Our camp emphasizes the importance of having Dreams, the necessity of discipline in order to reach our dreams, the importance of teamwork, and the ability to use Conflict resolution within our team when problems arise.

Seal the Deal Character building – The character development curriculum highlights how Home + School + Athletics= A balanced life, where positive growth can occur. Each week's topics relate to the three areas of students' lives: Home, School and Athletics. Session activities center on self-reflection and sharing.

The story of Seal the Deal

On January 21, 2007, Marlin intercepted New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady with 18 seconds left in the fourth quarter of the AFC Championship Game to Seal the Deal  for the Colts' 38-34 victory, sending them to Super Bowl XLI against the Chicago Bears, which they subsequently won. Marlin’s character has allowed him to Seal the Deal in many key moments like the one on January 21, 2007.  Through responsible decision making and discipline behavior in life and athletics, Marlin has displayed accountability to his family, friends and past teammates.  These character qualities and so many others lie within athletics.  Through Fight for Life’s Seal the Deal program we connect the game of life to the game of football.  We prepare our student athletes for success on and off the field through fun filled youth football camps and academies.
